Hand Dying Fabric



I'm hand dying osnaburg today. I'm using walnut ink crystals and ritz tan dye not together seperate pots and seperate fabric peices. 5+ yards of each. I'd do more but having to hang dry inside is tuff. I have the fabric draped over my stair well. What a mess it makes but I love the results.

I've never tried the walnut ink crystals. I'm getting excited that soon I'll be able to put my hand dyed fabrics out on the line.

I've not heard of anyone doing both, I'm sure the outcome will be beautifully prim!

i bought some of that rit dye in tan... but im so scared to use it. want to dye some red pin striped curtains i made....to look more prim. you think i should just do it? ive just never done it before and scared ill ruin all my hard work at sewing them!

Elisha, try it on a scrap of the fabric first. I'm not a big fan of rit dye but love the look I got by using instant coffee ...
